Welcome to CCLlearn

Welcome. This Christchurch City Libraries programme was launched in pilot mode in May 2009. From August 4 2009, it enters a state of permanent beta (ie in use but subject to change at any time). The programme is informed by, and owes a huge debt to the 23 Things program developed by Helene Blowers and the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County. However, it's adapted and adds NZ and CCL context as well as some broader learning and local contexts.

Full details of the framework will be available on the
CCLlearn Wiki soon.

The modules are based in Christchurch City Libraries
LAMS installation. This allows registration and monitoring to be undertaken. Some modules are run entirely through LAMs and others break out to this blog or to the CCLlearn Wiki.

Participants volunteer to engage with the programme. They do operate in groups - not to work on the same things necessarily, but to collaborate and offer support. Each group is facilitated and meets once a week for six weeks. Some meetings are not physical. Participants don't need to do all modules. There are some modules that everyone does, but the balance are selected by participants according to interest.

The intention is that about 30 people will be on the programme at any one time in 5-6 facilitated groups. Each tranche will finish with a half day unconference to celebrate, acknowledge and share achievements! The learning and the commitment to intentional learning doesn't end there ...
